About the QAU CGPA calculator
Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) in Islamabad is Pakistan's top public research university for social sciences, natural sciences, and international relations. QAU grades on the standard HEC 4.0 scale with plus/minus letter bands. Whether you are in the Faculty of Biological Sciences or the Department of Economics, semester GPA is a credit-weighted average — use this calculator to verify results before the QAU portal updates.

What QAU students should know
QAU's hilltop campus hosts graduate-heavy programmes alongside undergraduate degrees. Research thesis credits and lab courses carry different weights — enter credits from your official grade report. Students applying for HEC scholarships or foreign fellowships should export sealed QAU transcripts; self-calculated CGPA helps planning only.

QAU grading system
QAU follows the HEC Pakistan 4.0 scale where A = 4.00, A- = 3.70, B+ = 3.30, and F (below 45) = 0.00. D- at 45–52% carries 0.70 points — passing but weak for competitive scholarships. Research programmes may publish additional quality requirements beyond minimum CGPA.

Percentage conversion
QAU official documents emphasise CGPA and letter grades. HEC-affiliated universities do not share one public percentage multiplier — ask QAU examinations for certified conversion when forms require it.
