About the Warwick degree calculator
Midlands research university with transparent UK-wide honours grade thresholds. If you study at Warwick, you already know how tedious it is to re-type every course into Excel before results drop — start here instead. When your official portal updates, compare side-by-side and trust the registrar if numbers differ.
Spotted a wrong boundary? Send us your handbook link or browse the United Kingdom university hub.
How to use this calculator
- Start with the courses you are sure about; you can add or remove rows as you go.
- Double-check credit hours — a 2-credit lab and a 3-credit theory course should not be averaged like equal weights.
- The grading table on this page mirrors UK Honours. If a new handbook year changes boundaries, tell us via the contact form.
- Bookmark the page before exam season; it is faster than rebuilding the same spreadsheet every semester.
Warwick grading system
UK Degree Classification (Honours) is what Warwick prints on most transcripts. The top band is First Class (1st) (4.00 points). A fail (Fail) usually counts as zero quality points until you pass the retake.
The math behind semester GPA and cumulative CGPA is the same across most universities — see our CGPA formula guide for a worked example. For broader planning tips, read the complete CGPA guide on the homepage.
Percentage conversion
Honours degrees are reported as a class (First, 2:1, 2:2, Third), not as a single “CGPA percentage”. Focus on weighted module averages here.
